Today we have a Japanese WW2 NCO sword. More commonly known as the Type 95 these swords were machine made instead of hand made more common to earlier katanas. we believe this to be the second variation due to the aluminum tsuka (handle) and thick brass tsuba (hand guard) and the securing latch being located on the back of the handle. Overall condition of this sword is good-used with some rub marks on the handle and scabbard and slight scratches along the blade. Unfunctionally the sword and scabbard do not match Unlike older Japanese swords, these swords require less maintenance with only occasionally wiping the blade with a very light layer of oil or applying renaissance wax making them an excitant addition to anyone starting to collect WW2 blade, Japanese’s katanas, or military equipment in general.
